The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.

By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

Psalm 19:7-11

Questions.

Look Back

This past week we have considered some of the influences on Wesley, the moral disorder of the 18th century and been introduced to the Moravians.

Which part of the story did you find most challenging?  Why?

How important is it to be methodical in our approach to spirituality?

Look Out

What item in the news this week reflects the moral decline of our nation?

Wesley’s overriding emphasis was “personal salvation” (pg 10 of the Wildfires devotional).  Who can we specifically pray for during the coming week?

Look Up

Which Psalm helped you the most this week?  Why?

How can we use the words of Psalm 19 v7-11 as a basis for prayer?

Closing Reflections.

Is there anything you will take away from this study and discussion? What has stood out that you can take into your week ahead?

Pray together (in pairs or small groups) for each other, in response to your answers.
